Your 2018 Exotics Right Here!3/29/2018 It’s that time again and some of the top carmakers in the world are unveiling their new models for the 2018 production year. We’ve highlighted a few that caught our eye; which is your favorite?
Porsche Panamera Stingray GTR The dramatic aerodynamics are just part of what you’ll see with this 2018 Panamera. Think lush interior – really lush, as in 24 karat gold lush. Add to that a super impressive engine upgrade and you have the makings of a Porsche premier that will knock your socks off. Any 650 horsepower mid-size sedan that has a top speed of 196 mph is definitely a statement piece. That’s’ some family car! Toss junior the keys to that baby when he wants to go out with his friends on a Friday night. Aston Martin Valkyrie This supercar looks more like something straight out of a science fiction movie than a car. With a V-12 engine that kicks out 1130 horses and a top speed of 250 mph, the 2018 Valkyrie is probably not daily driver material (although there will be a road legal model as well as a race only model). She sure is pretty to look at though. With those exotic lines and sleek design you’ll definitely turn a few heads. The production for both models will be extremely limited though so it will likely have a pretty exotic price tag to match the exotic look. McLaren 570s Spider It’s a supercar – but it isn’t. The 2018 570s Spider is hot little coupe convertible with 562 horses under the hood. It will get you from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds. It doesn’t handle like the temperamental, skittish supercars though, taking curves with ease and sporting a suspension that handles bumps more like a luxury car than a supercar. It actually sits at McLaren’s lowest tier for Sports Series and is the lowest priced within that tier. It comes in around $210,000 for a basic model – if there is such an animal with McLaren, Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene Edition This nautical inspired, extremely limited-edition car is pure decadence from bumper to bumper. Exclusive (and expensive) yacht maker, Princess Yachts had a hand in designing the interior. There will only be 30 made so the 2018 Galene is obviously designed with a very special, very elite clientele in mind. It has a V-8 that puts out 500 horsepower, but this car isn’t about power under the hood; it’s about luxury and prestige – and it definitely has that covered. The Tale of the $13 Million Rolls Royce3/16/2018 So, what does someone who apparently has money to burn do when they want a new car? They commission Rolls Royce to create it.
Enter the Sweptail, a Rolls of a different color, if you will. When you look at it from the front, there’s no denying its heritage with the distinctive Rolls-Royce grille and round headlamps. Step to the back though, and you get something that looks, well, not really like a car at all – maybe more yacht-ish? The design is intended to meet an anonymous client’s needs and tastes that seem to be somewhat quirky and a bit exotic. All the luxury car company would confirm was that the customer is male. They wouldn’t comment on the cost. However, after the Sweptail was unveiled in Lake Como, Italy in May 2017, experts are estimating the price tag of the two-seater coupe sits at around $13 million. That’s a lot of quirk and exotic! If those estimates are correct, it gives the Sweptail the distinction of being one of the most expensive new cars ever sold. According to sources, Rolls was commissioned to create a car that was inspired by the company’s earlier models, the 1920s and 1930s to be exact. It boasts a panoramic glass skylight and wood exterior. The center console has a champagne chiller and there is even a special compartment designed for holding this mystery customer’s briefcase. Yes, we are dying to know who he is but Rolls Royce is being very tight lipped about it. According the Rolls Royce director of design, Giles Taylor, the customer approached them with an idea and they delivered, basically referring to Rolls Royce as a house of haute couture – for cars. It was a creative process that the customer participated in to create exactly the car he wanted. One more tidbit – a clue maybe. Rolls did mention that this mystery customer with the deep pockets is a collector of “distinctive, one-off items” like private planes and super yachts. Would you drive a car like this? Woodside Credit can help you get a car whether you are purchasing off the showroom floor, from an auction, or commissioning a famous luxury company to create you a one of a kind custom ride.
